I have been a daycare provider for almost 30 years. Over that time, I have had a lot of children share my life. I believe that each one of them has helped me to become who I am. I wanted a way of honoring them. So throughout the book, I have used the likeness of each daycare child, past and present, additional children who have held a special place in my heart in the illustrations.. My Illustrator, Harry Aveira, did a fantastic job. Not only did he capture each child’s likeness, but their personality as well.
